Handling of personal information

If you give us your email address and tick the box "add me to your mailing list" we may send you occasional emails about the site and things you can find on it. For example, we plan steady improvements to the site which we would like you to know about if you are happy to be informed (but not otherwise). If we send you any emails they will include instructions on how to take yourself off our mailing list, if you wish.

If you enter your email or any other information into any part of our site (such as by using the site to email your "post it" street list to yourself) that information may be stored in a database on the site.

 

The Ootown.co.uk website also uses IP addresses to diagnose webserver problems and to administrate the site. Cookies may be used to store visitor, supplier or client variables such as keeping track of various on-line databases and/or the operation of the post it list. The main way Ootown makes revenue is by commissions earned through membership of affiliate schemes (which are a form of performance-based advertising). Most of these schemes use Cookies to enable shops you visit to register that you have come to them having visited Ootown.

Ootown does not intentionally collect or use information from anyone below the age of 18. Ootown encourages parents to discuss the Internet with their children and supervise personal information that a child may provide via the Internet.
